内容简介:C60nanowhiskers(C60NWs) and C60nanotubes(C60NTs exhibit semiconducting properties of n-type and their application for field-effect transistors have been investigated. On the other hand, C60NWs and C60NTs are transformed to amorphous carbon nanofibersby heat treatment at high temperatures up to 3000℃. Those glassy carbon nanofibersbecome electrically conductive and can be used as the tips for electron emission. Moreover, the C60NWs heat-treated at 900℃ acquire the adsorption properties of H2O molecules. This affinity for water of heat-treated C60NWs is very interesting in that carbon fibers are usually hydrophobic .
As shown above, C60fullerene nanofibersexhibit a variety of structures by heat treatment. Those thermal properties of fullerene nanofibersshould make their usage very wide toward the coming age of carbon.
主讲人简介:
Dr. Miyazawa received the Doctor of Engineering (DE) degree in 1987 from The University of Tokyo. and promoted to a Principal Researcher of National Institute for Materials Science (NIMS) in 2002 and has been a Group Leader of Fullerene Engineering Group of NIMS since 2007. He started to study fullerenes from 1994, and has been engaged in the fabrication and application of various fullerene nanomaterialssuch as fullerene nanowhiskers, fullerene nanotubesand fullerene nanosheets, developing a simple synthetic method called liquid-liquid interfacial precipitation (LLIP) method. In 2011, he and his collaborators succeeded in the synthesis of superconducting C60 nanowhiskers.
